Are the green idea’s really green ?
how much green is used in advertising the green movement ?
how much TV air time is used to highlight it ?
the fundamental question, IS it Worth it?
After seeing the NDTV program about cleaning the Yamuna and the amount of money spent over the years in installing treatment plants – and so far the Yamuna is still greasy sooty black.
I ask myself why is it possible for example, in the capitals of some Scandinavian country’s one can catch fish in the rivers and lakes and the fish are good to eat.
the answer lies in the fact that we as a country are way over populated and so the civics are just pushed to the limits.
on another note:
while i was traveling in south of the country, we landed in a small village and to our amazement the local village tank that was in the middle of the village had crystal clear water in it. there were signs all around the perimeter saying in Tamil and English Please do not swim or pollute this water because its the village’s sole potable water source.
so to make a long story short. Its possible to have crystal clear water flow down the Yamuna, if we really act and work towards it.
